We offer professional voice over recording either in our west London (W3) recording studio or as a location recording package. Whether you require English or foreign language voice over recording, on-hold message recording, podcast recording, audiobook recording, newsletter recording, an e-learning presentation or a voice over showreel, we can provide the necessary equipment and expertise. We can produce both 'wild' voice over recording (just a script with no video playback) and sound-to-picture narration. If just a straight voice over recording is required, then the voice over artiste is directed via headphones from the studio control room. This is the case for most narration-to-video where synchronisation is unimportant; the same is true for on-hold message recording, podcast recording, audiobook recording and radio advertising voice over recording. If sound-to-picture is required, the addition of an in-booth monitor provides playback of digital video files, allowing for total audio-visual synchronisation, perfect for automated dialog replacement (ADR) and where strict timings are required.

Clients generally come to our London W3 premises and direct sessions in person. For those unable to attend, we offer a very cost effective alternative to the usually expensive ISDN link-up. The low price of both national and international phone calls, plus the availability of cheap (or free) VOIP telephony like Skype, means that remote direction via telephone is now a reality for the cost conscious client. Our telephone patch provides you with a direct live link to both studio engineer and the voice-over actor. As communication is two way you can both monitor the session as it progresses and give feedback to the artiste - just as you would if you were present in the studio. If you wish to direct from your desktop computer we can also broadcast straight to your PC. For those on higher budgets, we offer Source Connect link-ups to suitably equipped studios around the globe at no extra charge. Resulting files can be made available via ftp or http in numerous formats.
Audio Post Production
Audio Post Production covers just about everything else we specialise in. Narration for the recent CD Home of Hope was recorded on location and then edited, mixed and mastered at Boomtown Studio; some of the music was also provided by our sister company TheBigBamBoom. In addition to voice over sessions, we cover vocalist recording, music recording and production, editing, mixing, de-noising audio, file format conversion and mastering. If you wish to dub sound effects onto a session or clean up some audio files we have the expertise and equipment to get the job done. If you want to add a megaphone effect to your voice-over, it can all be accomplished in audio post production.
We’ve had some enquiries where people have asked “Where can I audition for voice over jobs?”. Generally it is not the case that such work is offered for open audition. First you need to record high quality examples of your work and then try your luck with voice over agencies. For actors and those wanting to improve their chances of breaking into the voice over business we offer an all-in showreel service. This involves the creation of a showreel containing voice over, music and a fully edited script all done to a standard that maximises your chances of obtaining voice over work. We can also supply professionally duplicated CDs printed to a very hugh standard - ideal for distributing your showreel.
